I really enjoyed some aspects of the cleanse, it was refreshing in a way. I think my body is used to cleanses somewhat at this point because it was not near as hard as it has been in the past.
We basically ate like gluten-free Vegans without sugar added including honey, and maple syrup. We found some great recipes and I enjoyed making different sauces which I discovered are pretty easy to make. We used a lot of raw cashews for everything from sauces to Lara bar-type snacks. I worked out well the first week of the cleanse and then fell off and only worked out when I went to the gym the second week.
Here are a few of my favorite recipes frome the week:
- https://www.eatingbyelaine.com/vegan-queso/ – we added salsa and Italian seasoning
- https://elavegan.com/vegan-mushroom-bourguignon/ – served over brown rice

- https://youtu.be/Mgi7pD4O_l8 – Lara bar recipe

Those are just a few that we tweaked a couple of times to make many different things. It was a tasty cleanse and we plan to bring some of it into other non-cleanse times as well.
